I think the most important invention is the steam engine that just uses steam to make power and then make machine work. The first steam engine was invented by Thomas Savery in 1698. But it was not popular until 1712. It has some positive advantages in the following. The important reason is that it has been used to transport appliances, for example, steam rocket in the space, steam locomotive in the rail, steam car in the road and so on. Anther reason is that it can save worker's energy.
